Wake Tech Golfers Bring Home a Win

Team Wins First Match of Inaugural Season
RALEIGH, N.C. —

In its first match of the season, the Wake Tech Golf Team brought home a win! The match was held on Tuesday, Feb. 17 at Olde Liberty Golf Course in Youngsville, NC. Wake Tech competed against Louisburg College, Chowan University, Southern Virginia University, and Johnston Community College.

Wake Tech finished with a combined team score of 319. Louisburg followed with a score of 330, Chowan University with 376, and SVU with 439. Wake Tech was lead by Scott Colley with a score of 72. Matt Yost finished with 80, Simeon Macdonald with 82, Brenton Land with 85, and David Toune with 86. Scott Colley’s score of 72 was the low score of the tournament, and all of the Wake Tech golfers finished in the top ten scoring for the tournament.

The Wake Tech golf team is coached by Andrew Wilkinson,a graduate of Wake Tech and Campbell University. In addition to his background as a coach, Wilkinson has helped organize the NCAA Division I national golf championship and tournaments for the Golf Channel and Golf Galaxy.
